If you have had a multiple birth (triplets, quadruplets, etc.), your family will receive financial assistance in the form of a one-time payment that will help you cope with the sudden major increase in expenses.
Birth in a hospital or a birthing house
In the days following a multiple birth, the hospital or the birthing house must inform the Minister of Health and Social Services of the event and provide all relevant information.
Birth elsewhere
If the children were born elsewhere than in a hospital or a birthing house, it is up to you, the parent(s), to inform the Minister of Health and Social Services of the event in the days that follow.
Note
To qualify for the assistance, your children must be alive when they leave the institution.
